About the Neurodivergent Professor

Have you ever felt . . . different? Like an outcast? Like even your family didn’t really understand you?

Are you an out-of-the-box thinker? Do you struggle with ‘normal’ people and the things they like and talk about?

Do you often feel out of place, even with your friends and family?

I get it. I’ve felt like that my whole life. And I’ve always been looking for people like me. It’s hard to find each other.

So I built this website to share my podcasts, articles, and videos about ALL THE STUFF I like to think about. That you like to think about. That WE like to think about.

I share this content to contribute to a discourse between like minded folks like you.

I really needed something like this when I was a kid, and I’m here for those people. People like you.

Most of my blog posts introduce my podcast episode, which is the main focus of my work. You can read the supporting post and find links to the podcast and the video (they are the same material).

I also do interview series about topics that interest me including the ‘Are vs. Should Problem’ and future interviews about neurodiversity.

Every once in a while I will share an article I post on Medium. Medium is a paid writer’s site but you can read a few articles free each month if you are not a member. There’s a lot of good writing there.

You can join my email list here, or subscribe on your favorite podcast app and/or YouTube.

I consider this site to be a small contribution to a much larger and growing group. This group is comprised of like-minded people making their own efforts to share their thoughts. These efforts, collectively, will change the future.

Join me in tearing down the walls of conformity, letting our freak flags fly, and normalizing diversity. Doing so will not only allow us to thrive as individuals, it will improve humanity and planet Earth.

    Will You Talk to Me?

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me Do you remember this nursery rhyme?  When I was younger, I believed it. I thought I would rather be yelled at than physically harmed. While I feel lucky to have received more verbal bullying than actual butt-kickings, I’m not so sure the…

  • What Is the Matter?

    What Is the Matter?

Ranking importance is critical to mental health What IS the matter? Matter is an interesting word. It’s a noun and a verb. The noun means something of substance and can be physical or metaphysical. The verb means for something to be important. There’s matter, and there is the matter. I like words like that, but the…

Things We Could Care Less About

I couldn’t care less about that. How many times have you said that? We use this phrase as a euphemism to mean we completely don’t like, disagree with, or are opposed to whatever is being discussed.  There are things in life we don’t care about, and some things we care a lot about. We pay…
