Episode 1: Alternative facts, proof, and truth

In this first episode I discuss the differences in words we use to describe what is known. Further I suggest that human senses limit what we can know, and what is knowABLE. Beyond that there are simply phenomena we cannot know about. We define these words differently, especially in today’s political climate, and seem to believe, as a people, that there are different versions of the truth. While I accept that we all have opinions, there must be some ‘truths’ and ‘facts’ out there that are unaffected by human belief systems. We need to stop using words like ‘proof’, ‘fact’, and ‘truth’ like as if they describe a continuum. Are some things just real, whereas other things not? How do we know if we really we know what we think we know?
