In this first installment of my ‘I’m Just Sayin” series I discuss the risks of putting all of our learning eggs in the single basket of science.
In other words, I think it is dangerous to think we can only know things if we follow science. How did we know things for the first 98% of our time on Earth?
Indigenous wisdom, reason, intuition . . . there are a lot of ways to use our imagination to answer questions.
The danger – and this is where the accusations that I am an idiot appear – is to treat opinions and random ideas as facts.
Knowing requires rigor. And some degree of standardization.
