Do you journal? Have you ever considered journaling? Does journaling sound like something crazy people do? Has anyone ever suggested to you that you try journaling?
Whatever your position on journaling, surely you know that it is a thing. Because now ‘journal’ is a verb and not just a noun, right?
Journaling is something therapists, counselors, and coaches will all suggest you do to help you improve your life.
But how??
How can just writing stuff do anything, really?
I can’t exactly answer that question.
But i can say that writing things out is helpful. In a lot of ways.
It provides a way to vent some frustration.
It provides a means of focusing your thoughts into more cohesive ideas.
It can reveal hidden things you didn’t see at first.
It provides a long-term record of what you were doing in the past.
Writing and typing slow down your mind.
Journaling also resembles meditation in that you enter a new time mode where you are forced to be aware of your thoughts and realize that you are the observer and not the thinker.
It changes your perspective.
Journaling does a LOT of things.
And you will not even realize they are happening.
Hopefully this episode will tell you what you need to know.
